Low pressure brings unsettled conditions to western Europe with heavy rain for many


Sunday
Further outbreaks of showery rain affect Portugal and western Spain on Sunday - showers often very heavy and thundery to the northwest. Drier and brighter for eastern Spain. Showery outbreaks of rain spread from the north along the length of Italy - perhaps staying dry and bright to the far south and for Sicily. Dry and bright for Greece and for Turkey too after early showers clear to the east.
Chilly and windy with showers and outbreaks of rain for France and the Low Countries. Rain heaviest over northern parts of France. A showery day for Germany, the Czech Republic and Poland with heavier bursts of rain for western Germany later. Some heavy outbreaks of rain and snow affecting Switzerland and Austria while showers over Slovakia and Hungary turn to heavier outbreaks of rain later.
A brighter day for Denmark and southern parts of Norway and Sweden with frequent showers here while a band of sleet and snow spreads north across central and northern parts of Norway and Sweden and, later, into Finland. Early rain, sleet and snow clears east from the Baltic States to leave a brighter afternoon though showers develop to the south again later.

Monday
Heavy, sometimes thundery, outbreaks of rain spread to all parts of Portugal, Spain, the Balearic Islands and Italy on Monday. Perhaps staying dry but cloudy to the far south of Italy. Rain eases from southwest Iberia later. Dry with patchy cloud for Greece. Dry and bright for Turkey.
A band of heavy, sometimes thundery, rain spreads across France and the Low Countries. Heaviest over southern France. This is followed by brighter conditions and frequent showers. Showery outbreaks of rain for Germany and the Czech Republic. Early heavy rain over eastern Poland clears to leave a fair day across the country. After a dry start, a band of heavy rain and snow spreads eastward across Switzerland and Austria.
A mixed day for Denmark with bright spells and scattered showers. A dry start for the Baltic States but rain arrives from the south later spreading north. Showery conditions for Scandinivia with broken bands of rain, sleet and snow spreading northward over Norway, Sweden and Finland.
