Feeling cold and wintry in the north, sunny and mild in the south

Sunday
High pressure over Iberia maintains dry weather for Spain, Portugal, the Balearics, Corsica and Sardinia with a good deal of sunshine. Dry and bright too for northern Italy though some thunderstorms and heavy showers may impact southern areas and Sicily. Thundery downpours may also impact western coastal fringes of Greece and Turkey but it should remain largely bright and dry for most of the day.
Low pressure will bring rain to much of France on Sunday with the heaviest and most prolonged spells of rain for the central portion of the country. Heavy rain too to start the day for Benelux but this should clear quickly to leave a dry and bright afternoon. A band of rain will move from west to east across Germany throughout the day but more prolonged rain and snow will affect Austria and Switzerland for much of the day. Dry and bright for Poland with cloud building from the west through the afternoon and rain reaching western areas by evening.
A showery start to Sunday for Denmark before a more prolonged spell of rain moves in by the afternoon. Dry with varying amounts of cloud for the Baltic states while southern Finland will see some scattered wintry showers. Wintry showers for the start of the day for Norway and Sweden though more prolonged, heavier precipitation will develop through the day.

Monday
High pressure remains over Iberia on Monday bringing a fine and dry day to most of the peninsula. Heavy showers are likely to develop along the northern coast of Spain through the day. A dry and bright day too for the Balearics, Sardinia, Corsica, Italy and Sicily. Rain and showers are possible for coastal areas of the Balkans and for western areas of Turkey but Greece should remain dry and fine.
A cloudy, showery day for much of France with the heaviest showers in the south and southeast. A band of heavy rain will quickly clear the Low Countries and Germany during Monday morning but scattered showers will linger through most of the afternoon. Heavy rain and snow for the Alps while a band of heavy rain will move eastwards across Poland through Monday afternoon.
A showery day for Denmark with southern areas more likely to catch a shower. A band of wintry precipitation will move through the Baltics on Monday, clearing by the evening. Most parts of southern Norway, Sweden and Finland will catch a wintry shower throughout Monday with more persistent snow affecting the west coast of Norway.
