High pressure brings dry, bright, settled conditions to much of Europe

Sunday
Outbreaks of rain, some very heavy, spread across Portugal and into western Spain on Sunday. The heaviest rain expected over central and northern Portugal and northwest Spain. Staying dry and bright for eastern Spain and the Balearic Islands. Dry and mostly bright too for Itlay though isolated showers may develop to the south. An area of low pressure brings heavy, sometimes thundery, downpours to much of Greece and western Turkey. Staying mostly dry but rather cloudy for eastern Turkey and Cyprus.
Staying dry, bright and warm across much of western and central Europe on Sunday with high pressure in charge. Sunny skies prevail over much of France, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia, Poland, Romania and Ukraine. Cloud builds into the far northwest of France much later in the day bringing patchy outbreaks of rain to Brittany.
Dry and bright for Denmark, the Baltic States and Finland on Sunday. Mostly fine for Sweden too though isolated showers may affect central portions of the country at times. Cloud increases over Norway through the day with scattered showers affect southwestern and western coastal regions.

Monday
Heavy showers spread across much of Spain, the heaviest of these focused to the northeast. Skies clear for Portugal bringing a mostly dry and sunny day here, a fwe showers may linger to the south. Cloud builds over the Balearic Islands while bright skies prevail over Corsica, Sardinia and northern Italy. Cloud builds over southern Italy at times bringing isolated showers again. Heavy downpours continue over Greece and western Turkey but these tend to ease through the day. A cloudy day with scattered showers for eastern Turkey and Cyprus.
Rain spreads across western France with some heavy bursts here though it stays dry but increasingly cloudy to the east. Some patchy rain reaches into the Low Countries as well. For central and eastern parts of Europe it's another dry and sunny day with bright conditions for Germany, Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Switzerland, Austria, Hungary, Belarus, Ukraine and Romania.
Dry and bright conditions extend into Denmark, southern Sweden and the Baltic States too on Monday. Cloudier over northern Sweden and Finland with isolated showers developing here too. Cloudy too for Norway with outbreaks of rain to the southwest.
