Thundery bursts widespread central-southern Europe

Monday
A messy pattern across the continent under slack areas of low pressure. Pulses of thundery rain for Alpine areas and southern Germany. Thundery rain for Greece. Drier toward the Black Sea. Wet and windy for Portugal and northwest Spain. Showers affect southern Spain, drier toward the east. Southern France also largely dry, whilst Biscay coasts see rain. Showers or locally persistent rain for the Low Countries.
Northern Germany and Poland should remain dry with easterly winds, highs 16 to 19C. Also dry for much of south and western Scandinavia, with fairly mild temperatures in southwest Norway, around 12C. Showery, windy and cool around the northern Baltic and Finland.

Tuesday
Staying fairly unsettled over Europe, with slow-moving thundery bursts of rain breaking out widely from northern Spain and Portugal to southern France, the Alps, Balkans and Greece . A few showers for central Italy, but drier toward the south. Temperatures generally mild or warm, ranging from 13 to 21C from north to south across the heart of the continent.
High pressure lies to the north, and chillier conditions affect Scandinavia. Mainly dry for Norway and Sweden, whilst showers affect the Baltic. Some more organised rain and snow for Finland. Denmark, northern Germany and Poland will remain generally dry, but cooler than Monday.
