A spell of unsettled weather for western Europe

Friday
Showery outbreaks of rain spread from the northwest across Portugal and Spain with just the far southeast of Spain staying dry. Plenty of sunshine between showers. Showery outbreaks of rain affect the southern half of Italy too, drier but cloudy to the north. Greece and Turkey also see outbreaks of showery rain on Friday, some of them heavy.
France also sees outbreaks of showery rain spreading from west to east into the Low Countries, across Germany, Switzerland and into the far west of Poland and Austria later. Ahead of this it's a dry and bright day for much of Poland and Austria as well as the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary though cloud does build from the west later.
Early wintry showers clear to the east from Finland and the Baltic States leaving a cold but mostly dry and bright day here. Mostly dry and bright for Sweden too with a few wintry showers to the north. Norway and Denmark both start the day dry but showers move into western areas later.

Saturday
A mixed day of sunny spells and showers for Portugal and Spain - these merging to the north to give longer, heavier spells of rain. Outbreaks of heavy rain too for northern and western parts of Italy, drier to the south with just occasional scattered showers. Rain clears to the east over Turkey leaving a mostly dry and bright day here and for Greece too.
Showers continue to affect much of France, the Low Countries and western Germany into the weekend while southern and eastern parts of France could see some very heavy spells of rain. Showers clear to the east over Poland to leave a dry day here while heavy bursts of rain affect Switzerland and western Austria. Cloudy with occasional showers for the Czech Republic, Hungary and Slovakia.
A band of heavy rain sweeps northward through Denmark and into southern parts of Norway and Sweden. Drier but cloudy to the north of this. After a dry start outbreaks of rain sweep into the Baltic States while much of Finland is at risk of snow showers.
