Cold and breezy in northern parts of Europe, fair to the south


Friday
Heavy showers and a risk of thunderstorms in central and southern Spain today. Fair in the north and across Portugal. The Balearics, Corsica and Sardinia should be dry whilst Italy will be dry and bright after the clearance of morning mist and fog. Greece will be dry with sunshine, although showers affect eastern Turkey.
Mist and fog patches in France, clearing quickly. It will be a mostly dry day with good spells of sunshine. A few showers in the Low Countries and through central Germany where it will be chilly. Cold again in Poland with wintry showers here. Hungary and Austria as well as Switzerland will be chilly but bright after early rain and sleet clears to the south.
Cold and windy in Denmark with some wintry showers. Further showers in the Baltic States. Finland is likely to be cold too with some snow showers. Sweden stays cold with sunny spells and scattered wintry showers. Heavy snow showers in northern and western Norway.

Saturday
A mostly bright day across Iberia with heavy, thundery showers developing over southern parts of Portugal and Spain later. Mostly fair for Italy with scattered showers spreading from the north through the day. Dry and bright for Greece with heavy rain edging into the far north of the country later. Dry and sunny for western Turkey with scattered showers to the east.
A dry and bright day for southern France, cloudier to the north with isolated showers. Isolated showers too for the Low Countries and the far west of Germany otherwise a bright and sunny day here. Early snow showers fade over eastern Poland to leave a dry, bright day here too. Mostly dry and fair for Switzerland, Austria, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Slovakia though there could be some snow over the Alps.
Dry and fine for Denmark though cloud builds through the day. Early snow showers clear from the Baltic States to leave a dry and bright day here. Dry and bright too for Sweden and Finland. Snow showers affect western Norway while a band of rain and sleet arrives from the southwest here later.
