Thundery northern Spain on Tuesday; hot and dry south

Tuesday
A shallow area of low pressure over Biscay will generate some thundery rain for northern Spain which then spreads into western France by evening and night. Portugal and southern Spain will stay hot and dry, highs 33 to 37C. Topping 30C for central France and feeling humid, up to 36C in south-west France.
Dry with lots of sunshine for Italy and the western Mediterranean. A few showers for Greece . Thundery rain breaking out over the mountains of Romania. The Balkans and Alpine regions should stay dry. Plenty of fair weather across central Europe, beneath slack high pressure. Pleasant temperatures for the Low Countries and Germany, 23 to 27C, warmest toward south-west Germany.
Patchy rain for Poland and the Baltic states, but much of Scandinavia will be generally dry. Isolated showers for northern and eastern Sweden. Temperatures ranging from 19 to 22C for southern Sweden and Finland, to 13C in northern Norway.

Wednesday
A trough of low pressure moves across western Europe, producing plumes of thunderstorms for France, these tracking north-east into Belgium and western Germany. Rain also spreads into the western Alps. A few thundery showers will also pop up toward the Pyrenees.
Much of Spain and Portugal will be dry, but quite breezy for western Iberia. Highs 34 to 37C inland for southern Spain. Fair weather for Italy, the central Med and the Balkans. Dry and warm conditions also extend across much of eastern Europe, including Poland and eastern Germany. Feeling humid, 24 to 27C. Up to 32C in Hungary and southern Romania.
A front moves into western Norway, bringing persistent rain and low cloud. Generally dry and warm around the Baltic. Some thundery showers for western Russia.
